Blog Hop Party!!

The Quilting Gallery is celebrating it's 5th birthday with a Blog Hop Party!!!  Be sure to stop by and visit the Quilting Gallery and the other blog's participating in the Hop!

Blog
Hop Party with Give-Aways

Thank you for stopping by and visiting A Fiber Freak!  My name is Carolyn and I have been quilting for about 20 years.  I took some time off for a number of years but with the recent interest in Modern Quilting, I have been inspired to dust off the old sewing machine and get back to quilting.  There are so many fabulous fabric collections available today that it's so hard to decide at times what to add to the stash or work on next - I want them all!!!!

I try to quilt as much as I can but I also knit, crochet and tat so I can have many projects going at once and  much to share.  I started my blog as a journal of my projects and hopefully provide a bit of inspiration to others since I've been inspired by so many great quilting blogs.

I'm currently working on a Spin Cycle quilt for my niece who is planning on joining the Air Force this summer.  I've only completed six of the twenty-five blocks but I'm confident I will have it done in plenty of time before she leaves us.

Now for the best part - a GIVEAWAY!!!  I am offering a Gee's Bend Quilt Kit by Windham Fabrics in the "Housetop Nine Block" pattern by Annie E. Pettway.  The kit includes the pattern and fabric to make the quilt (except backing fabric).

To win this fabulous kit please leave a comment telling me about your must have fabric collection.  I can't wait to get my hands on Kate Spain's "Honey Honey" collection.  It would be great if you also became a follower of my blog but not necessary to enter the giveaway.  The giveaway is open until midnight eastern time on December 15th.  I will randomly choose a winner from all comments on December 16th.  Please be sure your email address is available in your profile or comment (no email means no entry).  Sorry, the giveaway is not available for international shipping - US only.

The giveaway is now closed.  A winner will be announced shortly.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the Blog Hop!

  1. I would love to get my hands on all of the collectons by Kate Spain. Any fabric, any quilt patterns would work for me. I am a follower and cannot believe what you are giving away. Someone, somewhere will be doing a happy dance, for sure. My gosh, who wouldn't want to win this Gee's Bend Quilt kit. I know I would. Thank you for giving all of your followers a chance to win. Happy Holiday to you and your family.

  10. I love Gees Bend quilts - this is a really cool giveaway! I have a lot of collections that I look at and love, but I rarely purchase a whole collection. I would really like to have Cocoon. The other line I really want, though, is an old one that I don't think would be easy to get my hands on anymore -- Patty Young's Grand Bazaar.

I try to close my eyes when I visit all the fabric sites as they are full of tempting eye candy that I just can't afford right now :( I've opted to stay home and raise our kids, so our budget has done some very interesting things....which makes my quilting escapades much more interesting as well. ReplyDelete
  119. WOW Oh my goodness!!! a whole Quilt Kit?
My favourite fabric master is Kaffe Fasett, His fabrics are so bright, full of life, and simply amazing in anything you'd want to use them in.. only down side for me is the cost!

That and I know that I would buy it in and then think that it was too precious to use (cut up and quilt with)... I can still live in hope that one day I'll buy some and have the guts to cut and make with it ;-)

  120. Hello from Canada. I've been commenting on almost all blogs, so I'm doing the same for you! I like your giveaway. I personally don't go for a collection as such, but usually what I like, and then make sure I mix and match at least 3-4 fabrics with it, so I always have something in my stash that will match, usually for small items like table runners, wallhangings, bags, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  121. I want to get Hello Sunshine by Riley Blake. I have just started collecting jelly rolls and charms so now on to fat quarters. I have a hard time with this because I am used to buying all my fabric in our little town and I buy 2-3 yards at a time. They dont have precuts.
