Things I've learned....

  1. Removing wallpaper sucks!!
  2. Sitting Indian style and I don't get along any more.
  3. The dogs don't care, they'll try to eat anything on the floor.
  4. Did I mention wallpaper sucks?!
  5. Even while stripping wallpaper, I'm still distracted by wanting to play with all my yarn surrounding me!

The process has started....

Today I began stripping the wallpaper in my future craft/yarn room.  I forgot how much of a pain in the a$$ this is!!!  I did manage to get a good section done today but I think tomorrow I'll be able to get more done (don't want to over do it my first day!)

Currently I'm working in a space about 1 1/2 feet wide and I stubbed my toe a few times on a box.  Tomorrow the furniture is supposed to exit so I think I'll get DH to help be move my yarn totes - yes I said totes, as in more then one - out of the room and into our back Florida room to give me more room to move around.  One of my biggest challenges right now is creating a barricade to keep the boys from getting under foot and keeping them from trying to eat whatever hits the floor.

It's a Girl!

I just found out this morning that my oldest niece will be having a little girl!  This is my brother-in-law's step-daughter but he's basically been the only father to her.  I'm looking forward to watching him and my husband get wrapped around the finger of a little girl as there are no girls on my husbands side.  This should be very fun to watch as I know little girls can easily manipulate my husband to their will as my two youngest nieces have easily demonstrated.

Since my niece is an alumni of Florida State University I thought I would make her some baby items in Seminole colors (mostly just to irritate my BIL who is a University of Florida fan).  I crocheted her a baby blanket with a design from my own little old head.  It's made from Knit Picks Swish DK in garnet heather and grain heather.

While I was at it I also made a little pair of booties as I thought they were very adorable!

I also will probably give her the granny square blanket that I've been working on for awhile since she'll be having a girl.

Just one more day....

Ahhhh....just one more day of work, followed by an evening of knitting with the ladies, then a FOUR day weekend!!!!  This hopefully will be a good weekend.  On Friday I will be celebrating my four year anniversary with my fabulous hubby!!!!  And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Goodwill will show up on Sunday for my furniture.  DH has to work Saturday so the plan is to get started on the room - FINALLY!!!

Still chugging away on my Kirra, trying very hard to stay focused on it since the knitting is getting boring.  Getting ready to cook an early dinner tonight so I can have more knitting time!

Get's even better...

I get home from work today and have three messages on my phone from Faith Farm.  The first message says I wasn't home when they stopped by.  Pretty amusing since I was here from 1pm to 7pm and not a sign from them.  Granted we do have a fence around our patio, but it's not locked so walk your a$$ to the front door and knock on it.  Then the other two calls were they were behind and couldn't make my stop but they would love to reschedule during the week.  So do they know their a$$ from a hole in the ground - was I not home or were they behind.  Too late, just dropped off a bunch of stuff at Goodwill on the way home and will be calling Goodwill to pick up the rest.

Sorry, need to rant, I have no tolerance for bullsh!t like this!!

On a happier note, I'm coming right along with my red Kirra.  It's a very boring knit and I have about 10 more increase repeats left to do, but I tried it on last night and IT FITS!!! YIPPEE!!!

Can you say ridiculous!!!?!?!?!?

I am trying to re-do my guest room into my yarn/quilt/craft room.  I thought I would be nice and donate my furniture to a charity that could us it to help others.  Two weeks ago I scheduled a Saturday pickup with Faith Farm Ministries in Boynton Beach, FL.  I called the Friday before as instructed for my pickup window.  I was told they would be there between 2pm-3:30pm so I hurried this morning and ran my errands and did everything I needed to do so I could get back to the house in time.  I didn't want to miss them and know they have lots of stops - I was #13 and live basically just down the road from them.  I was looking forward to the furniture getting out of the room so I could begin removing my wallpaper today.  I was so excited.  Well, 3:15pm rolls around and no sign of them so I call and am told they are running a little late and my pickup will be by 5pm.  Ok, I get it.  Still waiting. I call at 4:45pm to check and am told they will be there in 45 minutes.  Well, it's 6:30pm now, no sign of them, they stopped answering their phones before 6pm.  I have wasted my entire afternoon sitting around my house for them to show up.  Trying not to get involved in anything because I would have been interrupted when they arrived.  But no, I get to sit and wait.  Apparently Faith Farm Ministries doesn't giving a flying f@#K about the people who are trying to donate to their "charity".  "Charity" my a$$.  They have wasted my time and show how much they really care about having donations made to their "charity".  Now I get to waste even more of my time arranging to have the furniture picked up with another charity and putting off even longer for me to start my room.
